Vincent Coe is a former Regulatory Examiner and Senior Risk Advisor, with over 15 years of financial services experience. In addition to serving as a regulatory examiner, Vince served as a senior risk advisor, and legal consultant. Through these roles, he gained a three-dimensional perspective on the financial services industry with respect to regulatory compliance challenges and legal nuances.
Vince began his career at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) – greater New York City Field Office, and transitioned to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where he became the central point of contact for Section 5 of the FTC Act (UDAP) inquiries. Vince is a Certified Risk and Compliance Manager (CRCM) and non-public Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Vince teaches business law and risk leadership courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
During his tenure at the FDIC, Vince received a Mission Achievement Award for his contributions in preserving confidence in the banking system following the financial market crash of 2008. In the private sector, Vince founded a certified minority-owned business and advised fortune 100 companies to address potential violations of laws and regulatory noncompliance. As a compliance subject matter expert, Vince provides credible challenge and oversight to vertical compliance units to undergird board and senior management’s posture across the enterprise.
Vince received a BSBA in Finance, Insurance and Risk Management from the University of South Carolina and JD from Case Western Reserve University. While studying law, Vince clerked for the US Attorney’s Office (Depart of Justice), Federal Trade Commission and US Army Corps of Engineers Office of District Counsel. Vince earned a certificate in business management from Dartmouth College – Tuck School of Business, certificate in Executive Management from Francis Marion University, and completed the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Emerging Young Entrepreneurs Program. Vince is Chair of the University of South Carolina Alumni Association Young Alumni Council, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.
